Case Study: Web Portal Programme Management

A German investment bank.
The Challenge
The bank suffered key staff losses in the middle of an ambitious web portal implementation programme. The requirement was to take over management of the programme, deliver what was feasible and re-plan the remainder.
The Solution
The solution was to manage the on-going 35 man-year, L2.2m programme covering:
- Cognotec FX & Money Market platform (including test planning and execution and third-party supplier management).
- European bond trading platform.
- FX and interest rate risk scenario analysis tool.
- Upgrade of portal site.
At the same time there was a requirement to remove all non-essential features from scope and agree new priorities and implementation dates with key business sponsors.
The Outcome
The bank successfully implemented Cognotec, the new portal and the risk analysis system in very tight timeframes and was able to progress with the implementation of the bond system using the new plans created.
