The Challenge

This bank's IT department had evolved rapidly over the preceeding 3-5 years and needed to implement a stronger process framework to prioritise, plan, execute and manage its IT projects.

The Solution

Phase 1 - a review of IT Governance and the implementation of testing tools, testing process and a SmartSourcing model for testing resources.

  • Testing tools: Roll-out of the Mercury Interactive tools (TestDirector, QuickTestPro , WinRunner) to 500 seats.
  • Testing process: Roll-out of a common testing framework and specific processes per application.
  • Management framework: Test management and reporting.
  • Resourcing model: A resourcing model providing a range of managed service and on & off-shore staff from quality-assured companies at pre-agreed rates.
  • Metrics programme: Metrics to demonstrate tangible improvements in the quality of software testing.
  • IT Governance: Review of existing IT Governance processes and recommendations for improvement.

Phase 2 - implementation of improved IT Governance, project portfolio management, and project management and reporting.
