A major European bank.
The Challenge
The bank wished to design and implement a strategic, scalable,
flexible client lifecycle management application that would be able
to support the customer assessment and segmentation requirements of
its Know Your Customer and MiFID programmes as part of its Compliance
framework.
The Approach
Lysis provided a project manager and design authority whose role
was to:

Understand the Know Your
Client and MiFID regulations and lead all core design decisions. |

Ensure agreement on scope
and design with the business to support initially 500 users
in its wholesale clients operations and scalable to support
10,000 users and extendable to the other business units such
as asset management and private clients globally. |

Ensure that client risk
assessment and client segmentation algorithms were compliant
with the regulations and the bank's internal objectives and
that they were correctly implemented via an intelligent customer
assessment form. |

Manage the development
of the platform using Java, Websphere, Oracle and a number of
complementary Open Source web technologies using industry standard
methods. |

The Outcome
The bank has successfully deployed a global solution which meets
the initial requirement for customer risk assessment and segmentation
for its wholesale customers. This is recognized as a robust and highly
scalable platform which is now being extended for further rollout
to numerous business users.
The solution fully supports the bank's strategy of decommissioning
a number of localized and tactical tools, providing a return on investment
in terms of saved licence and support costs.
The solution has supported the globalization and rationalization of
business processes, leading to cost savings in the operational areas.
