David Mellor, Chairman
David has 33 years' experience across the range of pan-European and global investment, commercial and retail banking, gained with HSBC (14 years) and Deutsche Bank (11 years) and in a portfolio consultancy career thereafter.
He joined Lysis in 2002.
David's banking roles have included Head of Investment Banking Operations, Head of Financial Institutions, Head of Transaction Services (cash management, securities services, trade finance) and Managing Director, DB eVentures. David has worked extensively in London, Brussels, Frankfurt, New York, and Silicon Valley. In addition to his role at Lysis ,David is a partner in Viridian Corporate Finance (www.viridiancf.co.uk), an associate professor at CASS business school and the author of entrepreneurial bible From Crew to Captain (www.davidmellormentoring.com).
David graduated from Cambridge University (M.A.) in Modern and Medieval Languages and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
Jon Sweet, CEO
Jon has 23 years wholesale financial markets experience gained in London, New York, Singapore and Frankfurt. He founded Lysis Financial in 2001 after 11 years with specialist banking IT firm TCA Consulting where he held a number of senior positions including head of the Investment Banking, eBusiness and Trading Floor Practices.
Jon specialises in Compliance and Operations Change Management and Global IT Strategy and Implementation.
His clients have included JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, ICAP, BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered, Barclays, Lloyds TSB, RBS, Halifax Bank of Scotland and AstraZeneca.
Jon is a guest lecturer on Compliance and Operational Change at CASS Business School.
Jon has a degree in Business and Computing from the University of Hertfordshire.
Management Team
Terry Hook, Associate Director
Terry has 30 years' financial services experience gained at firms such as Accenture and IBM. He joined Lysis in 2011. Terry is an accomplished Executive Director in IT and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) and Consultancy services who has delivered and contracted many large and complex programmes to numerous clients such as JP Morgan, the Prudential, Aviva, Aegon and Chaucer.
Terry has designed and implemented a number of corporate structures for organisations across Europe and Asia ensuring strong alignment with Regulatory and Tax Authorities thus ensuring business risks are kept at a minimum. Terry has successfully designed and implemented a number of product lines for Financial IT and BPO companies.
As a senior partner he has created and managed start-up companies to profitability and real asset value as on-going business operations. His style gains loyalty from any client or any team under his direction and management.
Cameron McNeill, Head of General Banking Practice
Cameron has 33 years' financial services experience. He joined Lysis in 2005.
Previously he was Head of the Asset Management Practice at London-based firm TCA Consulting Plc. He was a banker for 20 years' in London, Tokyo, New York and Chicago. He is an Oxford-educated lawyer and is highly quantitative having managed large derivatives trading portfolios. Cameron was on the board of Barclays de Zoete Wedd Limited (now BarCap) and Global Risk Manager for Barclays Swaps. He was a member of the Bank of England swaps committee and contributed to the Basel I process. He was a Director of the International Swaps and Dealers Association, Inc. (ISDA) and on the committee that developed the first ISDA Master Agreements. He was Managing Director of Fuji International Finance Plc, heading their derivatives business. As a consultant Cameron ran an extensive EMU programme in the United States and MiFID programmes in Europe and implemented the Target Operating Model for the KYC integration for the merger of two major European banks. He was appointed as interim Global Head of Client Onboarding for the bank covering Singapore, London, Greenwich Ct and Chicago.
Recently he wrote a regulatory capital model for OTC derivatives for a major international clearing house.
Patrick Higgins, Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance Practice
Patrick is a qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate and worked as a financial services lawyer until 2009 when he moved in to consulting. He has 20 year's financial services experience. He joined Lysis in 2010 and now heads the Governance, Risk and Compliance practice.
Recently Patrick worked for the Board of a FTSE 100 City-based financial institution to manage a 60-project Section 166 and Risk mitigation programme in response to a Skilled persons report from the FSA. Patrick has integrated risk management practices with performance management methodologies such as the Balanced Scorecard and Risk Based Performance. As a financial services lawyer Patrick worked on debt trading, lending, bond restructuring, debt for equity swap and PFI deals and was involved in the team appointed as the SEC's receiver on the Madoff hedge fund fraud. As a corporate lawyer Patrick worked on M&A, Companies Act, due diligence, asset purchase and initial funding assignments.
Michelle Long, Financial Controller and Operations Manager
Michelle has 10 year's financial control and operations management experience following a 15-year career as an accounts supervisor and financial and management accountant.
She joined Lysis in 2011. Prior to Lysis Michelle was Financial Controller at Xayce (now part of Capita) for 10 years.
She is AAT qualified and CIMA part-qualified.
